This change of venue proved to be a popular choice and was notable for the efficiency of the staff who ensured a very good buffet meal at very reasonable cost.

David Richardson had organised a School tour at 11am for about 70 Old Boys and welcomed a record turn-out for Reunion 2007 at noon in the downstairs Members' Bar at the London Welsh club house. Betty O'Leary proved an excellent honorary PA for the day and is responsible for the photographs now available in the Photo Gallery and accessible as below.
The assembly took full advantage of the Spring sunshine and, once again, Old Boys supped and ate at their leisure . The Exhibition area was even more substantial that that of Reunion 2005 and more than 300 photos were on display with other items of memorabilia.

David Richardson hosted Reunion 2005 which commenced at noon, finishing at about 3 30pm in the first floor Vice President's Lounge of the London Welsh club house. He was ably assisted by Roger Houghton. This excellent accommodation was full to capacity and Old Boys supped, ate and chatted surrounded by excellent views of the playing area and the Kew Gardens pagoda. An exhibition area assisted the explorations into yesteryear.
As before Old Boys came from far and wide and Keith Claiden made it from New Zealand, Kish Sadhvani from Hollywood, USA and John (Bob) Reeve from Denmark. We were also able to welcome two ex-masters, Alan Stephens and Ted Burton.
Dick Strevens - 2006
Dick Strevens............ 4th March, 2006.........The long history of the School is a splendid piece of work and I read it with a great deal of interest. It reinforces my considered opinion that HH Shephard laid very firm foundations for his pupils. What a great scholar and Christian gentleman he was. We all owe him a very great deal
I can recall a prayer that he used regularly at assembly that included the wish that 'we should be kept free from pride, vanity, boasting and forwardness'. This was followed by 'and give us the air that......'
I'd be glad to hear from any Old Boy who can refresh my memory.
Foxhills Golf Club, Ottershaw, Surrey 2004

NB: Acceptances were received from 119 Old Boys but some were prevented from attending at the last minute
Since the 2002 Reunion more Old Boys have been traced and these were much in evidence at the 2004 Reunion and David Richardson was able to tell of the success of our Website, introduced at the beginning of April, 2003, which has attracted well over 9000 hits at the time of writing.
As before Old Boys had travelled from far and wide and Dick Lee and his wife Lin, also Roy Barnes had made it all the way from the United States. We were also able to welcome Ron Friggens an ex-Shene master whose red sweater attracted great attention. This appears to be a talisman according to his ex-pupils although they were assured that it was not the same one........
Once again, many anecdotes were exchanged....and a lot of catching up took place in a short time.
As before, Foxhills proved an excellent venue and once again we were able to display memorabilia to stir the soul, although on this occasion Johnny Towers did not bring the bat he won in the Kew Boys Annual in about 1951. We were privileged to see it in 2002, but in that condition it is probable it would not have survived another trip from Devon ......!!!!!!!!
Foxhills Golf Club, Ottershaw, Surrey 2002
Attendees (113): It is possible that this listing is marginally inaccurate. Many messages of greetings and support were received from those unable to attend. It is estimated that another forty Old Boys, previously committed elsewhere, would have attended.

Guest:Gerry Waring John Olrog, whose wife Anita is the current Captain of the Club (and the first Lady ever to be a Captain of a mixed members club in the UK) was instrumental in providing the excellent location for such an august gathering. Foxhills is a major complex with comprehensive fitness and accommodation facilities and is set in 44 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. History buffs may be interested to know that the estate was originally developed by Charles James Fox, twice Foreign Secretary, and a man of great oratory who is credited with a major role in the liberalization of the British political system. Foxhills subsequently passed to Sir Thomas Borthwick a respected merchant. During World War 2, the estate was to become an ammunition store,a secret carefully kept away from the Germans. Those who have read the book 'War of the Worlds' by H.G.Wells, will doubtless recall that, the aliens landed in Ottershaw Surrey, arriving on the very first page.
At 7 pm a considerable onslaught of Old Boys arrived at our check-in desk to be labelled and sent forth to re-discover the past. If your name does not appear on the list of attendees, this will probably explain why.
David (Taffy) Richardson and helpers had already mounted a considerable collection of memorabilia and the invitation to bring along more was to reap a further rich harvest and there was much to stir the memory.
The evening was essentially one of beer and conversation, with piped background light music. No food was provided. The considerable space of a 1st Floor combined bar, dance floor and large restaurant facility was further supplemented by a verandah that overlooked the 18th Green. Alan Wicks and Rick Emptage were to take advantage of the accommodation, food and free golf, not cheap…but on an occasional basis, well worth the outlay.
Some people were to travel long distances to attend but nobody could surpass Keith Claiden who made it all the way from New Zealand…….
The evening was to close at 11 pm but, without doubt, could have gone on much longer. Unanimous opinion was that this was an extremely enjoyable event, certainly to be repeated. A further reunion is planned for Friday 26th March, 2004 a time of the year that we hope will enable us to re-unite with those unable to be at the first gathering
